The Air He Breathes by Brittainy C Cherry

"I was warned about Tristan Cole. "Stay away from him", people said. "He's cruel." "He's cold." "He's damaged." It's easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster. But I couldn't do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him because it also lived inside of me. We were both empty..."

Let me just tell you right now that I cried and held my self while I read this book. It was such a beautiful story and delivered perfectly.

There was so much ache and pain throughout this book. Both Liz and Tristan suffered greatly throughout this book.

That prologue just tore my heart into tiny little pieces. I felt like I couldn't breathe. I didn't understand why the author would be so cruel as to make Tristan go through what he went through.

Then there was Liz and what she had gone through. And there was Emma as well. I loved that tiny little girl and her beautiful heart and personality. She was so full of love and understanding for her mother.

The fact that these two people had suffered and had more than one thing that connected was amazing. I loved their relationship. I loved that it wasn't all roses and peaches at the beginning. They both had to work, and I'm glad that Liz didn't give up. I'm glad that she was willing to be Tristan's friend and seek out that friendship.

"The magic is in the tiny moments. The small touches, the gentle smiles, the quiet laughs. The magic is about living for today and allowing yourself to breathe and be happy. My dear boy, to love is the magic."
